Each year, Future Caucus recognizes young legislators and changemakers for political bridge-building and future-focused leadership during our annual Rising Star Awards.

Sophia Bush

2024 Generational Changemaker Award Recipient

Sophia Bush is an actress, activist, producer, and entrepreneur. Beyond entertainment, she’s a dedicated activist and philanthropist, raising nearly half a million dollars for causes, and passionately supporting projects empowering girls and women. She is a co-founder and board member of I am a voter®, a nonpartisan organization promoting voter education and civic engagement through the unifying idea: democracy works best when we all participate.

Paris Hilton

2024 Generational Changemaker Award Recipient

One of today’s most recognizable entrepreneurs and international influencers, Paris Hilton is a pioneer in television, podcasting and NFTs and an innovator in building businesses, social media and celebrity branding. Through her powerful activism work, she has spearheaded impactful policy changes across the United States, working to reform the ‘Troubled Teen Industry’ and protect children in systemically abusive institutions.

Rep. Tory Blew (R-KS)

2024 Rising Star Award Recipient

Representative Tory Blew, who filed for candidacy during her senior year of college and was elected at age 23, has represented Kansas’ 112th State House District since 2017. Rep. Blew is a co-chair of the Kansas Future Caucus and is being recognized for her long history of cultivating bipartisan partnerships to advance the shared interests of all young Kansans. Most recently, she has led legislative efforts to protect vulnerable adults from financial exploitation and increase criminal penalties and require restitution for animal abuse against dogs and horses.

Asm. Alex Bores (D-NY)

2024 Rising Star Award Recipient

Assemblymember Alex Bores was first elected in 2022 to represent Assembly District 73 in Manhattan. He serves as a co-chair of the New York Future Caucus and is being recognized for his bipartisan efforts to modernize the state of New York. Those efforts include passing a bill encouraging state agencies to adopt cloud computing technology in order to provide faster and more secure government services at lower cost to New Yorkers, as well as a bill aiming to counter the misuse of generative artificial intelligence by lawmakers and candidates for office.

Pennsylvania Future Caucus

2024 Cherisse Eatmon Collective Impact Award Recipient

The Pennsylvania Future Caucus, which includes 18 Gen Z and millennial lawmakers, is being recognized for their bipartisan efforts to address the “three mortgages” facing young Pennsylvanians, referring to the rising short- and long-term costs of housing, higher education, and child care. The Pennsylvania Future Caucus is co-chaired by Representative Justin Fleming (D) and Representative Thomas Kutz (R).
