STATE REPS. STUCK, NEYLON, AND FAHEY TO RECEIVE MILLENNIAL ACTION PROJECT RISING STAR AWARD

The Millennial Action Project Announces 2nd Annual Rising Star Award Winners

WASHINGTON, DC—The Millennial Action Project (MAP) announced the awardees of the 2019 Rising Star Awards. The winners are Oregon State Representative Julie Fahey, Wisconsin State Representative Adam Neylon, and Wisconsin State Representative Amanda Stuck. Each of these representatives are co-chairs of the Future Caucus in their respective states.

“We are thrilled to host the second annual Rising Star Awards and to celebrate the great accomplishments of leaders in our Future Caucus Network,” said Steven Olikara, Founder and President of MAP. “Rep. Fahey, Rep. Neylon, and Rep. Stuck have been leaders in bringing people together across party lines to make a difference on issues ranging from education to the environment. They exemplify the incredible power and impact of our Future Caucus chapters in Wisconsin and Oregon, and we are proud to recognize their achievements.”

The Oregon Future Caucus joined MAP’s State Future Caucus Network in 2018. Already, it has garnered legislative wins and positive press for its accomplishments in large part due to the efforts and drive by Rep. Julie Fahey. “As one of the Oregon Future Caucus’ co-Chairs, I’m honored to receive the Rising Star award to recognize the work our caucus has done,” said Rep. Fahey. “Oregon has a long tradition of working collaboratively across party lines to find solutions to our state’s challenges. The Oregon Future Caucus has continued that tradition, finding bipartisan ways to address the issues that younger Oregonians care the most about.”

This year, the Wisconsin Future Caucus Co-Chairs tied. “Representative Stuck (D) and Representative Neylon (R) have been true partners in moving bipartisan legislation. We could not recognize one without the other – they epitomize MAP’s vision for political cooperation,” said the Award Selection Committee.

“It is a privilege to receive MAP’s Rising Star Award,” said Representative Stuck, “recognizing young legislators working in government today who are prioritizing progress over party and to be an example of what our generation can accomplish in elected office.”

“I’m proud to be a part of the Millennial Action Project, and the important work being done to transcend political differences at the state level. MAP is a vital tool for the rising generation to address the issues of tomorrow,” said Representative Neylon.

The Rising Star Awards reception will be held at Darlington House in Washington, D.C. Awardees will be joined by a community of MAP leaders, supporters, local representatives, and staffers in celebration of their accomplishments.
