Rep. Justis Gibbs Announced as New Co-Chair of Mississippi Future Caucus

WASHINGTON — Today, Future Caucus announced Rep. Justis Gibbs, D-Miss., as co-chair of the Mississippi Future Caucus, joining Sen. Rod Hickman, D-Miss., and Rep. Jansen Owen, R-Miss., in leading this cross-partisan coalition of young state legislators. Mississippi is home to one of 36 state Future Caucuses, which are launched and led by two or more state lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle.

Since his election to the Mississippi House of Representatives in 2024, Gibbs has been an active member of Future Caucus’ network of Gen Z and millennial lawmakers, participating in the organization’s Civic Innovation Fellowship and attending convenings of young legislators from across the nation and political spectrum. His commitment, enthusiasm, and consistent engagement at the state and national level made him a natural choice to help guide the Mississippi Future Caucus forward into the 2026 legislative session.
