Kelli Herrick
Director of Talent Strategy
Kelli Herrick is the Director of Talent Strategy for Future Caucus, the largest nonpartisan organization of young lawmakers in the United States. Future Caucus works with over 1,800 Gen Z and millennial elected leaders in Congress and state legislatures to bridge divides, collaborate on future-oriented policy, and scale a healthy culture of democracy. In her role, she leads the strategy and implementation of people-focused solutions to elevate the employee experience at Future Caucus.
Kelli began her career with Teach for America and spent over a decade in educational leadership as a teacher, leadership and instruction coach, and principal, primarily at Denver School of Science and Technology, a Broad Prize winning network of public charter schools. As a principal, Kelli led a turnaround school and within 18 months led it to stability, with substantial gains in student achievement, team engagement, and staff retention.
Most recently, Kelli was the Director of Talent with Venture For America, a nonprofit fellowship for early-career graduates launching meaningful careers in startups and entrepreneurship. There, she built the organization’s first internal hiring function, and led an annual fellowship selection cycle of more than one thousand candidates per year.
Kelli holds a Master of Positive Organizational Development and Change and a Bachelor of Art in Medical Anthropology and Theatre, both from Case Western Reserve University.
Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Kelli can most often be found reading, mixing a cocktail, on her next trip around the globe, or spending time with her husband and their two pets, Teddy & Franklin.
