Dr. Nekkita Beans

Leadership Programs Manager

Dr. Nekkita Beans is the Leadership Programs Manager for Future Caucus, the largest nonpartisan organization of young lawmakers in the United States. MAP works with over 1,800 Millennial and Gen Z elected leaders in Congress and state legislatures to bridge divides, collaborate on future-oriented policy, and scale a healthy culture of democracy. As the Leadership Programs Manager, Nekkita is responsible for curating and delivering leadership programming, content, and events to the Future Caucus Network.

Nekkita is a former nonprofit executive and adjunct professor of social work who is passionate about equitable community building and strategic leadership development. Prior to joining the Future Caucus, she devoted her career to catalyzing positive change in underserved communities, emphasizing radical imagination and racial equity for sustainable impact and community capacity building.

In 2023, she earned a Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) from the University of Kentucky with a concentration in Organizational Leadership. Her academic work was inspired by her nonprofit experience, and she focused on racial obstacles that prevent Black communities from achieving the American Dream. Her studies also explored the collaborative role of community-based organizations and government in promoting equity to close the racial achievement gap. Prior to her DSW studies, she received her Master Social Work (MSW) Scholar of the Year award from the University of Alabama in 2019. She also received her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Mississippi in 2018, where she was named to the Who’s Who list.

In her spare time, Nekkita enjoys crafting and exploring the world through food.
