National Task Force on State AI Policy

A politically diverse coalition of Gen Z and millennial state legislators committed to ensuring AI policy is guided by effective governance—not partisan division

Effective AI Solutions

The National Task Force on State AI Policy, convened by Future Caucus, brings together a cross-partisan group of highly effective and forward-thinking legislators to lead responsibly on AI at the state level. Members navigate the complex tensions between innovation, regulation, and public trust, ensuring AI policy is a space for thoughtful governance, not partisan division.

Many lawmakers don’t come from a tech background—but AI is already transforming the policy areas where they do lead. This task force serves as a resource to help state legislators connect the dots, ask the right questions, and engage confidently with AI as a cross-cutting issue touching every aspect of public life.

Task Force Members:
  • Equip Gen Z and millennial lawmakers to lead on AI in a way that prioritizes shared problem-solving over partisan conflict.
  • Serve as thought leaders and conveners, offering briefings, tools, and curated resources for fellow lawmakers across the country.
  • Promote cross-state collaboration and share best practices to inform smart, ethical AI governance.
  • Advise on Future Caucus programming, communications, and lawmaker support related to AI governance.

The National Task Force on State AI Policy is a natural extension of Future Caucus’ audacious mission: activate young leaders to bridge the partisan divide and transform American politics. By convening some of the most promising voices on AI from across the political spectrum, this task force is helping shape innovative policy solutions grounded in empathy, ethical leadership, and collaborative problem-solving.
