WASHINGTON — As of Thursday, November 5th, four members of the Millennial Action Project’s State Future Caucus Network were headed to Congress to join the Congressional Future Caucus Network.
The Congresspeople-elect are Republican Byron Donalds (FL-19.); Democrat Nikema Williams (GA-05); Republican Ashley Hinson (IA-01); and Republican Victoria Spartz (IN-05). These candidates are part of the record-breaking 251 Millennials who ran for Congress this cycle; a 266% increase from 2018.
“The Future Caucus network was established to help usher in a new paradigm in American politics that prioritizes the voices of young people over the noise of traditional partisanship,” said MAP Founder and CEO Steven Olikara. These candidates have been committed to this mission in their respective state legislatures and they will continue to be in halls of Congress. Congratulations to these candidates.”
In addition to Future Caucus candidates heading to Congress, MAP is keeping a live map of all the Millennials headed to Congress in January. The record number Millennials on the ballot, coupled with explosive turnout among young voters, means that the generational makeup of the nation’s largest legislative body may be beginning to shift. MAP looks forward to working with all of these candidates, and more, in the future.
