WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Millennial Action Project (MAP) announces team expansion with Reggie Paros and Jeff Slyfield as the new Chief Program Officer and Policy Director, respectively. Together, they will play key roles in advancing MAP’s efforts to create a more functional democracy. Paros will oversee the strategic management of the organization’s dynamic portfolio of programming, including its state-based Future Caucus Network and capacity training for young legislatures. Slyfield will work directly with Paros to manage the organization’s policy team and grow MAP’s policy convenings and offerings.
“I am tremendously honored to be joining MAP at this pivotal point in the organization’s history,” said Reggie Paros, Chief Program Officer. “MAP has a superb track record of bringing together individuals of all political backgrounds to find common ground and provide young elected officials with the resources and support they need to be effective policy makers.”
“Building a more functional democracy that works for everyone is critically important work,” added Jeff Slyfield, Policy Director. “I’m excited to be joining the team to help drive and expand MAP’s policy department to bridge the partisan divide and transform American politics.”
Paros and Slyfield both join MAP from the U.S. government relations team at Ocean Conservancy (OC), a nonprofit organization that develops evidence-based solutions to the greatest challenges facing our ocean. Paros managed the organization’s U.S. federal, state, and local government relations activities, and was instrumental in developing and realizing the organization’s public policy objectives. Slyfield was one of the organization’s lead liaisons to policymakers on federal appropriations and climate policy. Prior to OC, Paros was a staffer to former Congressman David Jolly (FL) and Orange County, Florida Mayor Teresa Jacobs, and Slyfield worked in a variety of roles on the Hill and at several environmental nonprofits.
“We are excited to have Reggie and Jeff join the team,” said Layla Zaidane, MAP President and CEO. “They bring critical executive management and policy expertise to the organization and a fervent passion for the MAP mission. I look forward to working with them as we accelerate the growth and programming of the Millennial Action Project.”
