Maine Future Caucus, Co-Chair (D)

House Majority Leader Erin Herbig is currently serving her fourth term in the Maine House of Representatives. She represents House District 97 which includes Belfast, Northport and Waldo. Herbig guides the 77 member House Democratic caucus through the legislative session and serves as a leading voice in policy negotiations.
 
A proud fifth generation resident of Waldo County, Herbig is dedicated to making working and living in Maine easier for students and families. Rep. Herbig was first elected in 2010 and served for four years as the House Chair of the Legislature’s Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Committee. Herbig has fought consistently for long lasting investments in Maine’s rural community and workers statewide. She currently serves as Chair of the Aging Caucus and the Legislative Council’s State House Facilities Committee.
 
Rep. Herbig graduated from Belfast Area High School in 1999 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College in 2003. She worked previously as the Outreach Director for Maine Farmland Trust and preserving our heritage industries remains a high priority for her.
 
Herbig lives in Belfast with her husband Joe and their two children, Anna and Charles and is a proud member of the Belfast Curling Club.
