Tom Demmer

Illinois Future Caucus, Emeritus Co-Chair (R)

Rep. Tom Demmer represents the 90th district of Illinois which includes portions of DeKalb, LaSalle, Lee, and Ogle Counties. He was born and raised in Dixon, Illinois, and was educated at the University of Dayton earning a Bachelor’s in Communications.  He got his start in politics as a White House intern in the Office of the Vice President and later served on the Lee County Board. 

Demmer was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 2012 and has moved up the ladder in Republican leadership. He now serves as the Deputy Republican Leader in the house and serves on the Rules, Appropriations-Human Services Committee, and Human Services Committee, among others. 

Demmer’s leadership experience includes being the Director of Innovation & Strategy at the nonprofit KSB Hospital, with two locations in Demmer’s state congressional district. Additionally, he is active in the community as a member of the St. Anne Parish, the Knights of Columbus, the Dixon Rotary Club, and volunteers as a teacher with Junior Achievement.
