Bomb threats at several state capitol buildings

January 3, 2024

Washington, DC — Today multiple news agencies reported bomb threats at several state capitol complexes including Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Michigan, Montana, Connecticut, Minnesota.

Layla Zaidane, President & CEO of Future Caucus, released the following statement: “Public servants should not have to fear for their safety when going to work. Bomb threats against legislatures aren’t just security concerns; they’re roadblocks to effective governance. An environment of fear is not conducive to a thriving democracy. Today I’m grateful for the many young lawmakers who have chosen to lead in a way that unifies us and brings down the temperature of our politics. They deserve better.”
