Representative Zack Gramlich (R-AR)
Energy & Environment Fellow

Zachary “Zack” Gramlich is a devoted Catholic, husband to Tiffany, and father to daughters Bonnie and Cynthia. A lifelong educator and public servant, he serves as the Republican State Representative for Arkansas House District 50, encompassing the central part of Fort Smith, where he was born and raised. First elected in 2022 and re-elected in 2024, Rep. Gramlich is currently in his second term in the 95th General Assembly.
A Fort Smith native, Gramlich graduated from Southside High School in 2011 before earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with teaching licensure from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith (UAFS) in 2015. At UAFS, he met his wife, founded the Iota Mu Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, and served as Interfraternity Council president. He later obtained a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Since 2016, Gramlich has taught science at Darby Junior High School in the Fort Smith Public Schools system, where he currently instructs 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in Automation & Robotics and Flight & Space. He serves as chairman of the Endowment Board of Saint Boniface Catholic Church. In 2022, he was selected for the Leadership Fort Smith Class.
Gramlich’s entry into politics was serendipitous; prior to his 2022 candidacy, public service was not on his immediate horizon. With no prior political connections, his campaign was a profound learning experience that proved to be one of the most transformative decisions of his life. As a teacher, he brings firsthand insight into the diverse needs of students and the critical role of quality educational access.
In the legislature, Gramlich has emerged as a champion for education, health, and economic vitality. Recently designated a Behavioral Health Champion, he led as the primary House sponsor for Senate Bill 59, signed into law in February 2025, which provides universal free school breakfasts to all Arkansas students. He has also advanced education reform initiatives to enhance student outcomes. Gramlich serves on the House Public Health, Welfare, and Labor Committee; the House Insurance and Commerce Committee; the Joint Budget Committee; and is the Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee.
Looking ahead, Rep. Gramlich is committed to bolstering educational opportunities, improving Arkansans’ health and well-being, reducing taxes to foster business growth, and cultivating an environment where families—like his own—can thrive for generations in the Natural State.
