Rep. Shane Barnett was born in Laurel, Mississippi, and represents District 86, which encompasses Greene, Perry, and Wayne counties.
Barnett graduated from the Jones County Junior College and is a former firefighter.
Barnett is the Vice Chairman of the Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks House Committee and serves on the Conservation and Water Resources, Energy, Forestry, Judiciary, and Marine Resources House Committees.
