WASHINGTON — Last week, the Millennial Action Project (MAP) hosted its second annual National Week of Post-Partisan Action to encourage collaboration among young lawmakers throughout the country.

On Monday, the group conducted a recruitment drive to bring new lawmakers and activists into the fold, encouraging cooperation on common-sense solutions to the issues facing the next generation of Americans.

On Tuesday, participants were treated to free access to The Reunited States, a documentary from Van Jones and Meghan McCain highlighting MAP’s efforts to bridge the partisan divide in our country; they also hosted a panel following the screening featuring the filmmakers and those profiled in the film.

On Wednesday, Rep. Ajay Pittman (D-OK), Rep. Sara Rasmussen (R-AK), and Layla Zaidane, the Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer of MAP, hosted a Women’s History Month discussion on Instagram live.

On Thursday, MAP launched the Connecticut Future Caucus, the 31st such group in their nation-wide State Future Caucus Network. The Connecticut Future Caucus joins a coalition of 1,600+ young lawmakers throughout the country who are dedicated to transcending partisanship for the sake of producing common-sense solutions.

Also on Thursday, MAP hosted a roundtable alongside BridgeUSA, featuring Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) and Former Congressman Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) for a fireside chat. The pair discussed post-partisan opportunities for addressing climate change, democracy modernization, and economic mobility.

MAP rounded out the week on Friday with a live Twitter chat on post-partisanship with lawmakers from the State Future Caucus Network.

“We’re thrilled with how our second annual National Week of Post-Partisan Action went,” said MAP State Caucus Network Director, Jennifer Blemur. “Now more than ever, it is so crucial to bring lawmakers together from across the aisle and across the country to find solutions to the problems plaguing the American political landscape. We’re committed to building out these coalitions both in Congress and in the states to stem the tide of hyper-partisan politics that has pervaded the national discourse for too long.”
