Millennial Action Project Names Tennessee Future Caucus Leadership

Representatives Michael Curcio (R-69) and Sen. Raumesh Akbari (D-29) will lead the bipartisan caucus in the 2021-2022 legislative session

Nashville, Tenn. — Earlier today, the Millennial Action Project formally named its leadership team for the Tennessee Future Caucus. In the 2021-2022 legislative session, Rep. Michael Curcio (R-69) and Sen. Raumesh Akbari (D-29) will co-chair the bipartisan caucus of young lawmakers, recommitting to work together and advance the spirit of collaboration for the people of Tennessee.

Since its founding in 2019, the Tennessee Future Caucus has connected young lawmakers from across the aisle—lawmakers committed to building a coalition that advances generational change. As part of a network of 30 future caucuses in state legislatures across the country, Rep. Curcio and Sen. Akbari will help lead a national effort to bridge ideological divides to build a political movement—not in the spirit of any one political party or leader, but in the honest belief that there’s more that unites us than divides us.

“Finding common ground is very important in politics just as it is in life,” said Rep. Curcio. “I’m proud to serve as co-chair of the Tennessee Future Caucus for the Millennial Action Project with Sen. Akbari because I want to be part of an organization that will create and adapt policies that millennials are shaping and reforming.
