Andrea Pemberton

Civic Innovation Graduate Fellow

Andrea Pemberton is the Civic Innovation Graduate Fellow for Future Caucus, the largest nonpartisan organization of young lawmakers in the United States. Future Caucus works with over 1,800 Gen Z and millennial elected leaders in Congress and state legislatures to bridge divides, collaborate on future-oriented policy, and scale a healthy culture of democracy.

Andrea is a first-year PhD student in the Community Research and Action program at Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Andrea is deeply passionate about empowering the voices of younger generations and increasing civic and voter engagement in her community. Previously, Andrea served as the Executive Director of TYPROS, one of the nation’s largest young professional organizations, at the Tulsa Regional Chamber. In this role, she led community development initiatives and launched a program to train young professionals to run for local government.  Andrea is also the founder of the Tulsa Voter Coalition, a non-partisan initiative that brings together nine local civic engagement organizations to ensure voters are registered, informed, and empowered to vote on election day. She has also served as the vice president of the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa and as a board member of Leadership Tulsa. 

In addition to her work in civic engagement, Andrea has extensive experience as an organizational consultant, specializing in change management, talent management, and organizational development. She has worked with organizations in both the private and public sectors, including the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Andrea is also a faculty member at the Institute for Organization Management with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce where she teaches courses on volunteer management and leadership for chamber and association executives across the country. 

Andrea holds a B.A. in Anthropology and an M.A. in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Oklahoma and is a former Fulbright Scholar, conducting research on integrated Jewish-Arab schools in Israel.

Outside of her professional and academic work, Andrea enjoys traveling, reading, and volunteering. A local politics and podcast enthusiast, she is dedicated to staying informed on the issues that impact her community.
