Aparna Ramakrishnan

Policy Intern

Aparna Ramakrishnan is a Policy Intern for Future Caucus, the largest nonpartisan organization of young lawmakers in the United States. Future Caucus works with over 1,800 Gen Z and millennial elected leaders in Congress and state legislatures to bridge divides, collaborate on future-oriented policy, and scale a healthy culture of democracy. In their role, Aparna will be collaborating with the policy team to educate, engage, and mobilize young lawmakers around a member-informed, curated policy agenda to support bipartisan legislative enhancements.

Aparna has held multiple previous internships at the intersection of healthcare and policy, working for the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission in Washington, D.C., and Senator Richard J. Durbin’s Chicago Office. Aparna has also worked on other service and research projects, collaborating with the Illinois State Legislature to pass multiple bills relating to mental health as well as conducting research on Medicaid sanctions.

Aparna is currently a senior at the University of Illinois Chicago studying Public Policy and Integrated Health Studies and is also part of the GPPA Medicine program.
