Representative Michael Curcio

Elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2016, Michael Curcio, a 4th generation Dickson native is a local business man and entrepreneur. Having served on many local, governmental and non- profit boards, Michael is committed to his local community.

Representative Curcio earned a Political Science degree from Ole Miss, while interning with U.S. Senator Trent Lott. After college, he served several years first as a staff member for the US House of Representatives, then as a nonprofit fundraiser for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. While in Washington, Michael met and married an Arkansan, Mary Katherine, who became the love of his life. A fellow southerner, they soon moved to start a family in Tennessee. In 2009, Michael took a job with Bill Haslam in his bid to be the 49th governor of Tennessee.

Following the successful governor’s race, Michael refurbished a 110-year-old pharmacy building in historic downtown Dickson in which he started and sold a successful restaurant.

In 2011, Michael began a career with Benefits, Inc. an employee benefit advisory firm with clients in several states. Since arriving at Benefits, Inc. Michael has guided his clients through increasingly complex government regulations in the insurance and financial services industry. His experience as a small business owner and insurance advisor prompted Michael to seek office and work for change toward limited government at the local and state level.

Representing the western half of Dickson county, all of Hickman county, and a portion of Maury County, Michael is committed to serving the needs of his constituents while bringing common sense conservative Tennessee values to the legislature.

Mary Katherine and Michael have three children and live in the historic downtown home built by his grandfather, Billy Stewart. They are active in Dickson’s First United Methodist Church and their community.
