The 19th Collective and M.M.LaFleur: A Partnership to Empower Women in Leadership

Showing up is half the battle. Whether it’s in the statehouse, the boardroom, or your own neighborhood, stepping into leadership takes confidence, community, and, sometimes, the right outfit. That’s why The 19th Collective—Future Caucus’s women’s affinity group—is thrilled to partner with M.M.LaFleur, a brand that understands the power of not only dressing the part, but of doing so comfortably, functionally, and efficiently.
We kicked off this collaboration with a ‘Sip and Shop’ event at M.M.LaFleur’s gorgeous showroom in downtown Washington, D.C., where a dynamic group of women leaders gathered for an evening of connection, conversation, and, yes, some serious style. Leslie Knope once said, “Galentine’s Day is the best day of the year,” and this year, it really was. More than 20 guests and nine Future Caucus team members came together, walking away with not just new wardrobe staples but also a stronger sense of community. By the end of the night, attendees had spent $4,230, with 10% of proceeds—$420—donated back to Future Caucus, fueling our mission to support young leaders in public service.
M.M.LaFleur has long championed the idea that what you wear can shape how you show up. As they recently shared, “For young women serving in their state legislature, showing up isn’t just an act of courage—it’s a commitment to serving their communities, shaping policy, and paving the way for future leaders.” Their commitment to empowering women aligns seamlessly with The 19th Collective’s mission to foster camaraderie, professional development, and leadership among women in state legislatures.
“The 19th Collective is here to build camaraderie, offer professional development, and uplift women in office. It’s rare to find spaces that feel both empowering and fun, and this partnership strikes the perfect balance. It reminds us that we’re not just colleagues—we’re a community,” said Layla Zaidane, president and CEO of Future Caucus.
This partnership is just getting started. The 19th Collective will continue creating spaces where women in state legislatures can connect, learn, and grow—whether through social events, leadership workshops, or mentorship initiatives—because when women support each other, we all win.
