Representative Doug Fiefia (R-UT)
CO-CHAIR | NATIONAL TASK FORCE ON STATE AI POLICY

Doug is a first generation American, whose parents came from Tonga to the US in the late 70s to achieve the American Dream. Through the sacrifice, hard work, and entrepreneurship of his parents, Doug saw that in America, anything is possible, especially in Utah.
Doug grew up in South Jordan, Utah where he led the Bingham High School football team to the first state championship in over 60 years. He went on to graduate from Utah State University with two Bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Business Administration. At Utah State, Doug served two terms as Student Body President and also as President of the Utah Student Association (USA) representing all 300,000 higher education students to the Commissioner of Higher Education and the Utah State Legislature. After spending several years working, Doug later went on to get a Master of Business Administration degree from Rice University.
Doug has had a career in technology sales where he’s led teams for some of the most successful tech companies in the world, including Workday and Google. Doug also started a non-profit, Raise The Tide, where quarterly events are organized to help under-represented minority groups uplevel their careers, businesses, and personal lives. Doug also continues to stay involved with Utah State University where he serves on the university’s Foundation Board.
In addition to Doug’s employment in tech, Doug is a small business owner of a construction company, named SOJO Construction that specializes in finishing basements and remodels. South Jordan is the location where Doug attributes his parents’ realization of the American Dream, which is why he named his company SOJO Construction.
In his spare time, Doug enjoys traveling, playing golf, jamming on his guitar, and spending time with his wife Jocelyn and four kids: Melolini, Tomenika, Elenoa, and Douglas Jr. Doug and his family currently live in Herriman and are excited to represent the citizens of Herriman, Riverton and South Jordan in District 48, where Doug has lived 18 years of his life.
