Amaia Stecker

Senior Director of Development

Amaia Stecker is the Senior Director of Development at Future Caucus. She is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Future Caucus’ fundraising strategy, including donor cultivation and stewardship, grant proposals and administration, and special events. 

Amaia has worked extensively in development, fundraising for nonprofits and associations. Most recently, she was at Alzheimer’s Association, as Senior Director of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s campaign for the National Capital Area Chapter. She previously served as the Deputy Director of Resource Development at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Resource Development Manager at the National Parent Teacher Association.

Amaia graduated from the University of Idaho with a BA in Political Science and Spanish and  later earned her MA and MBA from Johns Hopkins University while working full time in the US Senate.  Her time on Capitol Hill included working for Representatives Jim Gibbons and Jim Matheson, as well as Senator Patty Murray and the Senate Budget Committee.

When she’s not focused on helping young legislators reach new heights, Amaia can be found living in the present on her yoga mat.
