Millennial Action Project Announces Panelists for 2020 Future Summit

Earlier today, the Millennial Action Project (MAP) announced the panelists for their upcoming 2020 Future Summit leadership panel. This year’s virtual summit will take place on August 7th, beginning at 12:00 p.m. eastern time, with more details on the event’s keynote speaker, press availability and panel format still to come.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Earlier today, the Millennial Action Project (MAP) announced the panelists for their upcoming 2020 Future Summit leadership panel. The leadership panelists are as follows:

Dr. Lara M. Brown is an associate professor and the director of the Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) at George Washington University. A distinguished writer and dedicated scholar, Dr. Brown is the author of several books on leadership and the presidency, and served as a political appointee in President Bill Clinton’s administration at the U.S. Department of Education.

Dr. Chris Gibson is a scholar of leadership and politics, a decorated combat veteran and former Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing New York’s 19th Congressional District. He became the 12th president of Siena College on July 1, 2020, and is a visiting fellow with the Catholic University’s Center for the Study of Statesmanship. Dr. Gibson is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Committee of the Bipartisan Review, a project with Cornell University’s Institute of Politics. 

Robbie Bach joined Microsoft in 1988 and over the next 22 years worked in various marketing, general management and business leadership roles.  He played an important role as a marketing leader in the successful development of the Microsoft Office business, and subsequently led the creation and development of the Xbox business, where he served as the Chief Xbox Officer. Robbie now works as a Civic Engineer with corporate, philanthropic, and civic organizations who are driving positive change in our communities.

Thione Niang is a mentor, political activist, community leader, international motivational speaker and consultant. Named by Complex Magazine as one of the 10 Young Activists Who Are Changing The World in March 2013, Thione arrived in the United States in July 2000 with $20 in his pocket, no family, and very limited English. Since then, Thione has served as the Chair of the Cuyahoga County Young Democrats, National Chair of the Young Democrats of America College Caucus, and Chair of the International Affairs Committee for the Young Democrats of America. In 2009, Thione launched the GIVE1 PROJECT, a global nonprofit organization, dedicated to engaging and empowering young leaders in the pursuit of social, economic and political advancement in their communities.

The upcoming event is the fourth annual Future Summit and will also feature some of the 1,000+ legislators from around the country who are part of MAP’s Future Caucus Network.
