MAP COO Offers Support for H-1B Visas in USA Today

MAP Chief Operating Officer Layla Zaidane recently wrote a letter to the editor at USA Today calling on young Americans to support the H-1B visa system for foreign workers. Zaidane noted that millennials “value hard work and believe everyone should have a fair shot at achieving economic success.”

Zaidane noted that millennials “value hard work and believe everyone should have a fair shot at achieving economic success. The values our country was founded upon mean ensuring that opportunity is within reach for anyone who is willing to put in the effort.”

Both conservatives and liberals have made their support for increasing the number of H-1B visas given to skilled laborers, understanding the tax revenue, and expanding the diversity that skilled immigrants bring to the table. If we begin to push away immigrants, we may begin to see our most valuable industries outsource their operations abroad. We risk isolating communities that have inspired a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship that is pushing young Americans forward.
