Celebrating A New Generation of Leadership in Alabama
Event date: February 18, 2025

On February 18th, the Alabama Future Caucus welcomed newly-elected and re-elected members for their first meeting of the year.
With the state’s rapid population growth and housing costs on the rise, Alabama’s young lawmakers are concerned about the state’s young professionals.
The Alabama Future Caucus plans to forge a solutions-focused path forward by centering their 2025 policy goals on housing, workforce development, mental health, and artificial intelligence.
During the meeting, Co-Chairs Representative Jeremy Gray (D-AL) and Representative Parker Moore (R-AL) shared the mission of the Alabama Future Caucus and their hopes for the future of Alabama.
As a Civic Innovation Fellow, Rep. Gray attended the Futures Thinking Forum in D.C. last November and spoke about how participating in “The Situation Room” simulation during our visit to Mount Vernon has been helpful for navigating working relationships in the legislature.
The Alabama Future Caucus concluded their workday with a lively reception at local Montgomery spot, AlleyBAR. We had a full house come out to celebrate — it’s clear there’s excitement for the work young lawmakers are doing — and we toasted to a new generation of leadership!
